Has there ever in rock or metal history been a Bass "face melter"?

a sweeping type bass riff. like if you check out dying fetus they do that and it sounds really cool. homicidal retribution and your treachery will by your down fall has pretty bood bass lines like that. alot of bands that use a 6 string for a technical style usually have pretty heavy bass lines. Obscura, the faceless, etc. will do that for you.
