Are fibrous roots okay when growing plants?

I bought these Jiffy seed modules that hold 6 columns and 12 rows of dirt pods. I planted some Hollyhocks and Sweet corn (Jubilee Hybrid) in them, and now almost a week later they're starting to spout. The problem is, there are these really small fibrous roots growing out of them, and when I first saw them I thought they were spider webs. I've never seen roots like that. They reached out from their pods and tangles with other roots from other pods. It's not all of them, only some. Is this normal or should I be worried?
